Catching up

Alright, well now that i am back to work i have time to actually write on the blog. I know it's weird that i have time at work to blog, but whatever. All is going well in our world. We are really loving being a family of four and all of the changes that have come with it. We continue to learn, make changes and roll with the punches as they are thrown our way. Delaney has come to our family with the sweetest demeanor! She is just the happiest little girl almost all the time. Even when she is SO exhausted she will continue to kick and play and smile at you. She is an easy baby so far. She doesnt sleep much at night but i am not complaining. She coos and talks to me at 2am and i dont have the heart to tell her to be quiet because i want to hear that sweet little voice. i do tell her it's bedtime, but this makes no difference to her :).
These pictures are in the reverse order they should be but we will go with it anyway.
One night i took Adriana to the mall to see Santa. She had been telling me all week what she was going to say when he asked what she wanted for Christmas. When it came time her mind went blank. All week when Chris and i would ask her what she wanted for Christmas she would respond, "I want all the kids who dont have presents to get presents for Christmas." Hearing her say this really touched my heart. I dont know how much she really comprehends about that statement but just the fact that she thought about other kids and them not having presents showed me her compassion.

Adriana after performing their Christmas Program at school

When all of the kids were asked to stand up to start singing. Apparently, some were not as prompt as Adriana would have liked. this is a picture of my child pointing and calling the names of the kids who were not standing. Yes, i am quite proud of this moment (heh).

The class did a wonderful job and they all looked really cute. Some of my pictures turned out blurry, unfortunately. The kids all worked really hard on this secret project for the parents. At the end of their program they were called by name to come up, bow or curtsey and present the gift to their parents. This was adorable!!! It is a magnet with their picture in the middle. Super cute. I was so proud and so nostalgic at the same time. I can NOT believe how fast Adriana is growing up. Seems just yesterday i was holding her in the hospital and now she has her Christmas program at school!

Chris and Delaney just hangin out at home.

Adriana is the best big sister! She is always wanting to know what is going on with Delaney. How she is doing, what she is up to. Adriana loves to hold her and play with her. She likes to feed Delaney, but is easily distracted by other things. She will feed her then want to be all done because there is something else she can be doing instead! That being said, Adriana really takes great care of her little sister. She talks to her and plays with her, gives her the pacifier when she is crying and tries her best to console Delaney if she is crying. Adriana will climb on things to turn the mobile on or to read her little sister a story. I knew Adriana would be a good big sister but i had no idea. It is such a heart warming thing to see and i really hope the girls will be close as they grow older.

Adriana even is willing to share her beloved Monkey who sleeps in her bed with her.

Chris thinks he is funny putting socks on Delaney's hands. He does it not to protect D from scratching herself, but to make me crazy. :)

Delaney adores her big sister. She will turn her neck as far as she can to see what Adriana is doing, watches in fascination as Adriana runs all over the house, dances or whatever it is she might be doing. Anytime Delaney sees Adriana there is the biggest grin across her face! I LOVE to see this. As i said, Delaney seems to be pretty easy going so far. She just takes things as they come. She was born October 8th at 7:28am. She weighed 7lbs 1.5 oz and was 20 inches long. She has been a snuggly little girl right from the start. Chris was able to stay one night with us in the hospital. The nights after that i slept with her snuggled next to me. It is hard enough to get out of those beds and right after the c-section i didnt want to try to rush out of bed to get to her in the middle of the night. She was jaundiced, just like Adriana. However, she did have to be on a bilibed for about 24 hours to help get her levels down. That was really hard for me not to be able to hold her all the time. We have gotten past that. At her 2 week appt she was back up to her birth weight. At her two month appt she weighed 9lbs 7 oz and this morning (2 mos 3 weeks) she was 9 lbs 13 oz! She is growing like crazy! As i have said she is just an awesome little person. Smiley, happy, snuggly and active. We all are crazy about her.

Adriana is doing well too. She is currently on break from school. She hasnt mentioned wanting to go to school lately but i know she is looking forward to going back. She loves school and all that she gets to do there. She is loving the countdown to Christmas. I think it is her favorite time of year so far. She absolutely loves to see all the Christmas lights on the houses as we drive by. I always hear, "Mom, look look look!" She loves to help me bake and is looking forward to baking cookies and leaving a note for Santa. If she sleeps at all tomorrow night i will be surprised! She loves to read stories and will bring a stack as tall as her little self in for us to read. Adriana continues to be a sweet little girl too, with a mix of 4 year old thrown in just to keep us on our toes! :)

Chris is doing well. He is keeping busy and loving being a father to 2 little girls. He is keeping busy at his store. Even though they are closed to the public right now with the exception of internet orders he has things to do there. He works in the mornings and then comes home to be with the girls while i go to work. It works out well for us. He has done such a great job on the basement and we all spent time down there last weekend cleaning and organizing all of the toys making room for Christmas toys. After Christmas he will have several new projects to do, putting together new toys!

I am keeping busy working, keeping up with the girls and housework etc. I am loving being back to work. I truly love my girls and i LOVE being home with them in the mornings. However, i enjoy going to work as well. I appreciate the time i have with them when i get out in the world. I am just not wired to be home 24/7 with them. I am a better Mom because i am able to work. Co-workers seem happy to see me, so that makes it better too :). I am enjoying the winter hours that Chris and i have together. As a family we are able to play Wii bowling etc and have some quality family time. I am sure it will be a challenge when spring comes and Chris goes back to work full time. This winter has been challenging to our health though. It seems like the last two months there is one thing or another being passed around. This week i went to the dr to find out that i have pink eye and an ear infection. I took Delaney in this morning thinking she had pink eye too but luckily it's just clogged tear ducts.

Well, that is all for now. I will update again after the holidays. Merry Christmas from the Price family!!!
