Ok, so it has been a while since i blogged so i figured i should update you as to what is going on with our life. The car accident i was in back in April has turned out to be a good deal for us! My car was totalled out in the accident and paid off. We did have GAP and always will! this is the 2nd time GAP has paid off a car for us. This time we had $7,000 from my old Subaru rolled into the new car so we are out from under that! We have lower payments. We did buy the same Mazda CX-9 except a different color and it has a few more features than the first. The accident ended up being completely my fault and I feel terrible that my insurance has to fork out so much money. I see this intersection every week when i go to work and pass it up to turn at the light! i am no dummy!
For the past few months we have been looking at houses and trying to decide if we should buy this year. We finally got up the nerve to find out what we actually qualified for to see if it was even a possibility. After looking at about every house in Northern Colorado and putting offers in on two houses and being beat out for them we finally have a contract on a house!!!!! We will be closing on July 1 and moving in through out the month of July. We are sooooooo excited! It is a huge step for us and we are nervous but beyond ready! So we have one month to get all of the inspection, appraisal etc done. We were smart in that we already have the loan in place and it's just waiting for the contract to come through. So we dont have to wait on all of the underwriting etc.
Work is going well for me in some aspects and others it is extremely frustrating. I started working for Sorenson Communications doing video relay interpreting and i really like it. i started in the mentoring program to build up my skills and work on some areas that i really needed improvement. i have now graduated that program and officially am on my own! i am excited and nervous. i still need to work on some things but everyone does. i received a huge raise along with this so i am jazzed about that. So that job is going well but my other Interpreting job is increasingly frustrating. I have worked for 24 hour freelancing for 5 years and i work for just one woman that runs this agency. The problem is that she doesnt run the business well, is unethical in some aspects and takes things personally when it is just business. when i tell her i am not taking jobs on a specific days to spend time with my family she gets upset. The biggest problem with this is that when she gets upset with an interpreter she does not offer them extra work until she forgets she is mad or gets over it! i could go on and on but basically i want to stop working for her. i just have to make sure i can get enough hours in with Sorenson that it compensates for not working with Debbie any more.
Adriana is doing well. She was really sick for about a week and a half. Throwing up, diarhea, fever etc. The doctor was close to admitting her to the hospital just to rehydrate her. Thankfully i was able to get her to start drinking fluids again and we didnt have to do that. I was so incredibly scared. I cried as i left the doctors office that day and held her all night doing everthing i could to get ANY sort of liquid in her. I bought Gatorade, Pedialyte, two different kinds of popsicles and gingerale! ANYTHING she would drink! i just wanted her to get better and not go to the hospital!
She is running around playing, dying to get outside even at 7am! she loves all things that are water, dirt and messy! She is a tomboy and just full of life. i cant believe she is 19 months already!
Well that is it for now. I hope all is well!
